What Is Thermal Spray Masking Tape?

Thermal spray tape is a specialised tape used in thermal spray coating to shield parts of a component from coating and from a grit blasting machine. Ordinary masking or duct tape would melt, burn, or be torn off. This tape is built from heat-resistant materials, typically glass fibre cloth with a silicone coating and a silicone adhesive, so it holds on through blasting and spraying.

How Does Thermal Spray Masking Tape Work?

• Grit blast: the tape protects the masked area from the abrasive.
