Overhead rail shot blasting machine provides the workpieces to go with constant speed through the machine. The conveyor consists of a chain and trolley system hung from a monorail, and can be driven at a fixed speed or can be indexed.
A special specialty of the continuous shot blasting machine is the regular traveling speed of the workpieces. The capacity to adapt the moving velocity of the workpiece and the wheel power ensures that the machine can be quickly and smoothly integrated into an existing production line. The abrasive media is pre-accelerated very efficiently by the KT series blast wheels, providing for short treatment times and decreased abrasive damage when compared to conventional blast wheels. Maximum coverage of the workpiece is performed by the blast wheels being arranged in an “X” alignment, diagonally to the moving workpiece. In this formation, the leading terms of complex components, welded sections, and flame-cut parts can be completely blasted.
Working of Overhead Rail Shot Blasting Machine
The workpieces are carried manually on rotating hooks or automatically on an above rail system into the blasting cabinet. The blast cycle runs in accordance with the preset schedule and blast time. Used abrasive and fines fall into the abrasive collection blasting hopper below the blast cabinet and are carried via a screw conveyor to a bucket elevator and to the abrasive reclamation unit. In the reclamation unit, the used abrasive is separated from fines and contaminants and returned to the abrasive silo. The screw conveyor to present targeted cleansing/ separating of sand and heavy contaminants from the used abrasive. The conveyor should ideally be installed with a magnetic separator (also optional) to extract sand in order to prolong the service life of the machine. The abrasive then goes to the air wash separator as before.
