The hanger is mounted on the door of the blasting cabinet in the basic version. The operator opens the door, loads the components on the hanger, closes the door and starts the blast wheels. Because the parts rotate, they are blasted evenly from all sides, with no tumbling damage. It is the most flexible machine in the shot blasting range, and it is widely used for medium and heavy parts.
How Does a Spinner Hanger Shot Blasting Machine Work?
- Loading: the door is opened, and the components are loaded on the hanger.
- Closing: the door is closed, so the chamber is sealed.
- Blasting: two blast wheel stations placed around the cabinet fire abrasive at the components, which rotate on the hanger. The parts are blasted evenly all around the rotating hook.
- Abrasive recovery: used shot falls to the bottom, is cleaned by the separator and returns to the wheels through the abrasive recycling system.

Main Types of Hanger Type Shot Blasting Machines
There are three main types. The right one depends on your batch size, output and floor space.
- Closed loop hanger shot blasting machine: It has a closed-loop conveyor with six (or more, as required) chain-driven trolleys that hold the hangers. While one hanger is blasted inside the chamber, the others are loaded and unloaded outside. The chain moves the next hanger in, so the process is continuous. High-velocity abrasive from wheel stations around the cabinet hits the rotating components, and the parts are cleaned evenly. It suits higher production, because loading and blasting happen at the same time.
- Y-type spinner hanger shot blasting machine: Components are loaded onto a trolley outside the chamber, and the door opens manually or automatically. The trolley moves in, the door closes and the wheels start. The hanger rotates both clockwise and anti-clockwise for a time set by the operator, which blast cleans the parts thoroughly. When the cycle ends, the hanger moves out for unloading, and another hanger on the Y-track moves in for blasting. This saves time because one hanger is always ready.
- Door (gate) type hanger shot blasting machine: The hanger is mounted on the door of the machine. The door opens manually or pneumatically, the parts are loaded onto the door hanger, and the door is closed. Wheel stations placed around the cabinet throw abrasive on the rotating components. After the cycle, the door is opened and the parts are unloaded manually or automatically. It is the simplest type and a good starting point for small and medium batches.
