Multi Cyclone Dust Collector

Multi cyclone dust collector are manufactured using a number of small-diameter single cyclone dust collector, operating in parallel and having a common gas inlet and outlet, and operate on the same principle as single cyclone separators—creating an outer downward counter flow and an ascending inner counterflow.

Cyclone Dust Collector

Cyclone Dust Collector or Multi-cyclone dust collector has the same principle as single cyclone dust collectors using Centrifugal force and forming dual counterflow to separate heavier dust from dust loaded gas. The efficiency of multi-cyclone dust collectors in collecting finer dust particles highly depends on the number of centrifugal forces created by the cyclone system and longer occupancy time to allow more dust particles to settle down. These two factor increases better separation of particles in a multi-cyclone dust collector.

The centrifugal force can be increased by reducing the cyclone diameter and the occupancy time can be increased by increasing the cone structure height. To match with airflow requirements, a huge number of thinner and longer cyclones are arranged in parallel and combining all inlets into one common inlet and all outlets into one common outlet. The pressure drop of a Multi-cyclone is comparably higher than a single cyclone and this higher pressure drop yields higher efficiency, requiring more energy to clean the same amount of air inserted in a single cyclone dust collector. A single-chamber cyclone separator of the same volume is more economical and suitable but doesn't remove much dust.
