What Is a Table Shot Blasting Machine?

A table shot blasting machine uses a turntable, the machine's core component, to move workpieces through the blast zone for cleaning and descaling. For asymmetrical components, the turntable can be set at different angles alongside multiple blast wheels, adapting the same basic mechanism to irregular part shapes.

Types of Table Shot Blasting Machines

Swing Table Blasting Machine

A swing table blast machine has a rotary table divided into two sections: an external loading/unloading area and a shot blasting room. Workpieces are loaded by hand or via an automated handling system, and the table swings 180° to move them into the blast chamber, rotating throughout the blasting cycle. This design lets one station load and unload while the opposite station blasts, cutting idle equipment time significantly.

Available in single-door and double-door configurations, swing table machines suit heat-treated components, castings, and forgings, and are commonly used ahead of rubberizing and powder coating.

Rotary Table Blast Machine

A rotary table blast machine is divided into multiple chambers, with satellite loading positions at the front for easy loading and unloading of finished and raw jobpieces. After loading, the machine indexes forward by one station; individual job holders are separated by walls forming distinct chambers, and one chamber is dedicated to a blow-off station that removes residual blast media from finished parts before unloading.

The rotating table itself is built from solid manganese steel plates, available in various diameters, with a stack of blast turbines positioned for efficient, high-speed abrasive delivery. Dust emissions are filtered to under 3 mg/m³, and operation is controlled through a PLC control panel.
