Sandblasting cabinet is another type of sandblasting machine which has a cabinet and is a closed or enclosed form of the machine. In that closed part blasting of contaminants as well as recycling of abrasive media takes place. There are several other functions which are included like cleaning, recycling as well as the collection of dust materials too. In this sandblasting cabinet system, there is a window from where the operator can see what is going on in the process; there is an opening gate from where the blasting material or blasting surface is kept inside the Sandblasting cabinet.

Sand Blasting Machine Working

Sandblasting cabinet is essentially a closed method that enables the operator to blast the part and recycle the abrasives, This mostly consists of four components; the sandblasting cabinet, the abrasive blasting system, the sandblasting cabinet dust collector and the grit recovery & recycling system. Operators can perform sandblasting operations from outside of the sandblasting cabinet. Operators by placing his arms in gloves attached to holes on the cabinet, viewing the part through a vision glass, Footswitch are using to turning the blast operation on and off.

There are three types of sandblasting cabinet follows:

•  Wet Blasting Cabinet:-wet blasting cabinet or commonly known as Wet Blasting Cabinet uses a seal-less slurry pump to convert the abrasive media and water into a slurry mixture. This slurry mixture is then transferred or pumped directly to the abrasive blast gun where compressed air pressure moves the mixture with the desired pressure rating.
• Pressure Blasting Cabinet:-Pressure Blasting Cabinets works on the Direct Pressure principle of blasting. It uses a pressurized vessel or “blast pot” that operates the abrasive media. In a pressure blast cabinet, the air pressure in the vessel and is maintained to be the same. This means that there is no pressure differential between the blast pot and the blast line this allows the abrasive media to meter into the airstream at the blast pot and then transfer the length of the blast hose and pipe out to the nozzle.
•  Suction Blasting Cabinet:-Suction Blasting Cabinet is based on the Injection Suction principle of the blasting system. It works on the Venturi principle to get abrasive media from a non-pressurized storage hopper or tank to the blast gun where it is mixed with the compressed air stream and propelled against the work blasting surface. Suction blast machines or suction blasting cabinet are most easily recognized by having two hoses (one for air and one for abrasive media) running to the blast gun.
