What Is a Rotary Barrel Shot Blasting Machine?

A rotary table shot blasting machine, also known as a drum-type shot blasting machine, loads a batch of components into a rotating drum, where a high-performance blast wheel throws steel shot at the load as it tumbles. How the Rotary Barrel Machine Works?

Once the door opens, the feeder swings up and unloads the workpieces into the rotary drum. This handling method can be adjusted for gentler treatment depending on how delicate the components are, and the drum's movement can be controlled either manually or via PLC.

Before blasting begins, the equipment door closes and the barrel swings into position in front of the high-performance turbine, simultaneously rotating on its own axis. Blasting then continues until the workpieces are thoroughly mixed and blasted from all sides; the inside of the blasting chamber is lined with materials highly resistant to steel shot and grit impact, and the direct blast zone is protected by replaceable, high-resistance steel plates.

The door stays closed throughout blasting and can only reopen once the shot blasting room is dust-free, a process that takes roughly 10-15 seconds, aided by low-pressure exhaust that clears dust into the filter unit during the cycle itself.

After blasting, the barrel swings into the unloading position, where the quantity and unloading intensity can be controlled through dosed emptying. The treated workpieces pass over a moving screen that separates residual abrasive from the finished parts before they're transported to collection boxes.
