Coatings of Zinc Metalizing Wire often have better corrosion resistance than either pure zinc or aluminum, by combining the benefits of both materials. This is particularly true in areas where crevices exist and residual moisture and contamination are present, and in areas where the coating has been scratched or scraped, resulting in zinc coating voids and exposed substrate. Using the electrical arc spray process, zinc coating of those materials is often utilized in the industry for EMI and RF shielding, or as conductive coatings on capacitors.

Zinc Spray Wire

In Zinc Spray Wire normal zinc-plated coatings is dull gray with a matte finish, although whiter, more lustrous coatings are often produced, depending on the method of agents added to the plating bath or through post-treatments. The number indicates the coating thickness in microns (µm). Zinc plating is usually used for screws and other light fasteners, light switch plates, and various small parts. Materials for use in moderate or severe environments must be chromate conversion coated for additional corrosion protection. The zinc spray wire coating is pure zinc, which features a hardness of about one-third to one-half that of most steels.
