​What Is Garnet Sand?

Abrasive garnet sand is a natural mineral abrasive mined from Almandine garnet deposits, the hardest and heaviest garnet type in its group, making it well suited to industrial abrasive blasting and cutting applications. Compared to slag-based abrasives, garnet abrasive sand offers better quality performance, and unlike silica sand, it carries no silicosis health risk, which is a major reason it's become the preferred blasting media across many industries.

Because it's crushed from hard rock, garnet abrasive sand has higher density, sharper edges, and a wider usable size range than many alternative abrasive media, properties that translate directly into better, more consistent blasting performance.
