Shot blasting is a method through which it is possible to obtain excellent cleaning and surface preparation for secondary finishing operations.

Shot blasting machine is commonly used for:

The cleaning of iron, steel, non-cast parts, forgings, etc.

Mechanical cleaning of sheets, rods, coils, wire, etc.

Shot peening to alter mechanical properties (increasing resistance to fatigue for springs, gears, etc.)

Preparing surfaces to be painted, coated, etc.

In general shot blasting concentrates abrasive particles at high speed (65-110 m/second) in a controlled manner at the material thereby removing surface contaminates due to the abrasive impact.

Initially, in the 1930s, the shot blasting process used compressed air for propelling the steel shot. This method remains in use today for cleaning metal frames and weldments.

Shot blast production lines, both manual and automated systems, became possible with the introduction of centrifugal wheel blast machines. The system of shot blasting by the centrifugal wheel is more productive than by compressed air and achieves a better more uniform surface finish.

How to select a shot blasting machine

The criteria used for selecting the type of shot blasting machine depends on the size and shape of the parts, the condition of the surface to be cleaned, final surface finish specification and overall process required.

The Working of the Machine

As part of this technique of shot blasting, a controlled stream of abrasive shot media is propelled towards the metallic or steel surface that needs to be shot blasted with. There is a blast wheel that is located at the heart of the machine. As soon as the rotation of the wheel starts, the metallic abrasives or the shot media are channelized towards its centre. From this position onwards, the abrasives are accelerated and hurled into the direction of the surface which is being prepared for finishing.

After the completion of this process, the contaminants as well as the media make a rebound into a separation system which contains the dust collection system. Just like the name suggests, the dust collector is responsible for collecting or for removing the media that is pulverized, contaminants or dust. The remaining media gets recycled by returning it to the storage hopper where the particles can be kept for using them in the future.

shot blasting machine specification

Brand Name

Airo Shot Blast

Condition

New

Weight (KG)

2000kg

Cleaning Process

steel shot, steel grit, steel cut wire shot

Fuel

Electric

Voltage

110V/220V/380V/440V

Use

urnishing, Container / Bottle Cleaning, Descaling / Stripping

Dimension(L*W*H)

OEM

Airo shot blast supply Ability

100 Set/Sets per Month

Additional Information

Delivery Time

3-4 Weeks

Production Capacity

100

Packaging Details

WOODEN PACKING OF DIFFERENT SIZES FOR DIFFERENT WHEELS

Payment Terms

L/C (Letter of Credit)/T/T (Bank Transfer)

Shot blasting machine is a surface treatment process using high-velocity steel abrasive.
