  • When the air contains dirt, dust, debris, chemicals, or gases, it can harm the lungs of everyone who breathes it in and these contaminants are collected from the air by a dust collector
  • These contaminants are collected from the air by a dust collector, which cleans the air and improves the safety of everyone inside.
  • When dirt, dust, and debris accumulate on equipment, they might make their way inside, interfering with the mechanics.
  • This can result in slower machinery and damaged equipment. Compromised machinery requires continual attention and repairs.

Wood Working Dust Collectors

A wood working dust collector may do an appropriate job of removing wood particles, saw dust and fine sander dust from the work area or place, but a poorly designed or shabby filter bag can even do better job of readjusting wood dust throughout the shop.  Woven/intertwine fabric bags generally supplied by a machine’s manufacturer are, at best.  Holes between the threads that are large enough to pass air efficiently also pass dust with equal efficiency.  A tighter woven bags traps smaller dust particles, but will also create backpressure and reduce suction substantially in the dust collector.

It is possible to achieve filtration of dust particles down to 1 micron by using the correct fabric with the correct surface treatment and the proper air-to-cloth ratio for the collector.  For wood dust we most often recommend polyester fabric felt with a singed finish.  Fabrics are preferred for filtration due to their high breathability, fine particle separation and superior dust cake build/release properties. Singed felt allows a very thin layer of fine dust particles to build on the surface of the filter bag. This “dust cake” then does the actual filtering of other dust blown into the bag. When the dust cake becomes heavy, it slides down the surface of the bag and leaves behind a thin layer to continue this self-cleaning process, thus maintaining high airflow and allowing our collector to work at its full capacity.

Salient features of wood working dust collector are as follows:

  • Compact size
  • More dust filtration area
  • Heavy duty construction
  • Low noise level
  • Strong suction power with high airflow
  • Energy efficient
  • Maintenance free fan

Application of wood working dust collectors are:

  • Wooden furniture industries
  • Pattern making
  • Wood cutting machines
  • Wood router
  • Automatic edge banding machine
  • Thermocoal dust collection
  • Thermocoal dust extraction
  • Fine dust extraction in sorting machines
